The 2014 SERNW-GB Regional Conference on ecological restoration will bring together scientists, restoration professionals, and government agencies involved in restoration issues in the Cascadia and Great Basin Bioregions, with a focus on the unique challenges of ecological restoration in these regions.  The conference will be held in Redmond, Oregon.

PLENARY SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED

We have an exciting lineup of speakers for Tuesday and Wednesday am plenary sessions. We draw upon regional experts to address the entire conference audience. The plenary speakers will present key elements of ecological restoration. See our Plenary Sessions under the Programs tab for more details.

 

STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST

Island Press and the Society for Ecological Restoration have teamed up to sponsor a contest for a $750 Scholarship for travel to the conference! Your task? Create a video, no more than four minutes long, that answers the question: Why Restore? See details here.

 

SHRUB-STEPPE FIELD TRIP JUST ADDED!

A paired watershed study site that has been evaluating hydrologic changes from Juniper removal to the native herbaceous shrub steppe plant communities will be the subject of a field trip led by Mike Fisher from Central Oregon Community College and Tim Deboodt, Staff Chair at Oregon State University Extension Service.
